Weekends Are Just Not Long Enough...

Feathering My Nest has moved!... come check all of this out over at www.featheringmynest.ca/blog

Got the quilt top really finished now... I forgot that it had borders to go around it... it looks much nicer now with the borders on...

I just had just a moment this morning to snap a quick shot of the quilt top with my iPhone...  I was planning on getting it just about finished this weekend!.. but we were out and about with our neighbors on Saturday running a few errands and of course eating!.. Saturday we hit up Fat Burger for lunch and then a late supper at Kelsey's... yeah Kelsey's not the best restaurant around out there but we were all looking for some home cooked food... surprisingly it was pretty good... but back in Newfoundland if you're looking for some comfort grub you go to Irving Big Stop for a good bowl of Turkey Soup... or to Velma's for a plate of turkey dinner...  Where in Calgary can you go and get that on a Saturday Night!?.  Really if you know where to go in Calgary for some good home cooked comfort food leave a comment and let me know!..

Saturday I picked up 12 bunches of red carnations for the Christmas wreath I plan to make soon... The carnations are dirt cheap... and they don't look that bad at all... I'm really not a fan of fake flowers but once these are all together as a wreath or ball they look really lush and Christmassy...  Now once I get a new coupon for Michael's I'll have to pick up a wreath form and I'll be set to get to get the wreath together...

Last night we went back to Bookers, luckily we got there just before 5.. the place filled up quick and there was quite a lineup of people waiting for some tables to free up... Oh did we ever eat a massive pile of food... and it was all delicious... Next time I will go with the all you can eat crab... not that the ribs I had weren't good, I just prefer a dry rib as opposed to one with sauce on them... perhaps you can order them dry from there?..  I didn't ask,.. I was too busy chowing down,.. OH and the brisket... OM NOM NOM NOM!..

Next time I'll be going for the all you can eat crab... its Bookers... you should be eating the crab!.. I dropped the ball on photos last night... we just started eating when the food came...
By the time that I remembered to take a picture of our feast the platter of ribs, brisket beans and crab legs that Amy and I shared had been destroyed and what was left was packed up to take home... then we ordered a bucket of crabs legs...  Chris and Brendan went with the all you can eat ribs and crabs legs...

All iPhone shots again... and I didn't get one shot of either of the two slices of the Key Lime Pie that briefly visited our table... Bookers Key Lime Pie is divine!.. nice and cool with a real nice thick but light whipped cream... and there was a raspberry reduction with whole berries on the top of the pie with thin lime peel curls... and the graham crust on the bottom was the perfect amount of crust... Then to help everything settle a cup of tea was in order...
Mighty Leaf always makes a good tea... this one included...

Got a chicken in the slow cooker for supper today... its comforting to walk into the house after a day of work to be greeted by the smell of cooked supper... Mmm... all we have to do is make a salad and we're set... the plan this evening and every evening is to put in an hour of work on whatever projects I'm working on... so tonight the quilt... the backing piece is sewed together, washed and dried... I just have to iron it so I can baste the quilt together... I also managed to get the Sheri Berry Christmas fabric washed, dried and ironed for my Christmas apron... I want to start that apron this weekend coming...
