Non Stop All Weekend...

Feathering My Nest has moved!... come check all of this out over at www.featheringmynest.ca/blog

Aaaand another weekend bites the dust...  We finally decided what to get for a new vehicle... We got another Escape... except this one has all of the options we wish  a had when we got our last Escape... Auto start... Leather heated seats... Navigation...  and we've purchased this time... not leased... if we had realized that we were going to burn so many kilometres we would have purchased our previous Escape!...  So that took up most of Saturday...

Saturday evening we went out for supper with A&B... we went back to MUKU... next to Globefish in Kensington...  I had the Miso Wonton Ramen and the Cheshu Rice... and a salad... so good... and their green tea is excellent... I don't like green tea anywhere else!.. but at Muku its so good!..

After supper we headed over to Mirage for tea, and cards and shesha... best flavor yet... Mango mixed with White Grape... You have to try it out!.. Then after a couple hours at Mirage we all headed to the movie theatre to see Tron 3D IMAX!..

Sunday... groceries and laundry and house tidying... this week our goal is to try to keep the house as tidy as possible throughout the week so that next weekend we don't have to devote much of any time to cleaning the house!.. There we're still boxes of Christmas decorations all around the main level so I brought them down to the basement... there is room for them there while the basement is getting finished... I grabbed a few shots of some pieces I'm putting together for the basement...

Check out this basket from Crate and Barrel... it was HALF price!..  I couldn't leave it behind!.. Its going to hold a few cozy blankets... different woolly knits...

This beauty above is a square foot of little tiles... I think I will use this tile as my inspiration for the basement laundry room and bathroom...  Cool blues and crisp whites... light and airy...

We've picked up a few supplies... outlets and light switches... and a dimmer with a remote for the living room... There is a Lowe's just opened today down by our house so we're going to check that out this weekend to do some comparison shopping and perhaps pick up a few more supplies... The wood for framing is the first big basement purchase... I'm thinking that'll happen in a couple weeks time... we have to put together a drawing for the building permit application...

In the mean time... check these out...  Its the basement now...

Above... this is looking back at the steps and down into the front of the house... there will be a bedroom and storage area up there...

The hallway will be to the left side there as you are looking at the front of the house... and are standing in the living room... just down the hall a couple steps the laundry room will be off to the right... you can see the green tape lines going back from the front sides of the photo that's where the walls will be...  I'm thinking white bead board halfway up the wall and a nice light blue for the walls... I would like to tile the floor with those glass tiles up above... there will be white cabinets above the washer and dryer and then a tall skinny cabinet up the left side of the washer and dryer... as well a countertop across the top of the washer and dryer...

This view is from standing in the living room area which is at the front end of the house...

Then in this shot I'm standing at the back of the house in what will be a spare bedroom... there will be a bathroom as well right in front of where I'm standing and to the right a large storage area...

Have you ever finished a basement?.. got any tips or pointers to share!?.  Lemmie know!..
