Looks like I missed my own blogaversary... hmmm... ah well... I'll celebrate it twice as hard next year!.. 

Just popping in this Sunday to quickly say HEY!!. how's your weekend going!?.. we're having beautiful weather this weekend... How's your weather been?.. I had planned to stay in and get some real spring cleaning done... I got up early and headed out for groceries... then home again... threw in some laundry and headed outside to plant our pepper plants... and my herb pot... not the herb pot... a plant pot full of different herbs... legal herbs... haha... 

I snapped the below shot after I'd planted the strawberry plants... the lady bug was chillin in the grass so I gave her a lift up onto the flower... I couldn't resist for a sweet photo... :)

I've got some awesome tunes playin... thanks 8tracks!.. currently I'm listening to a playlist called Road Trippin by hillaryjg... go and check it out... some good cruising around in the sun tracks... light and easy and fun...

Currently I'm sitting in the house... wanting to be back outside... but I'm not what sure to work on outside... I could clean up the front garden a bit... BUT I really want to get the inside of the house tidy... but I don't physically want to do the work... I need a maid... just once a week to clean the bathrooms... scrub the floors and wipe down the kitchen... and vacuum... yeah... that would work... Oh and to do the laundry too... HA!..

I've gotten a few sweet photos of our little TinTin in the past couple of days...

I've not really thought much about the stuff I'm stoked on Sunday for today... but I guess all of the above apply... I'm stoked that it is beautiful out today...  I'm still stoked on 8tracks... not so stoked on house cleaning... and... well... stoked that we have little TinTin... 

Oh!.. have you tried out NTC?.. Do you like it?.. I was trying to work out every day... but from not working out to working out every day I'm finding it hard to stay on track... new plan... work out on Sunday... Tuesday... and Thursday... I feel like perhaps that isn't enough to be super fit... but it really beats doing nothing... so I guess I'll see where three days a week gets me...

Okay... time to get it done here...  the washing machine is singing my song... maybe I can super clean the house quickly enough that I'll get out into the front garden just as the sun is making its way over the top of the house and has the front garden in full sun... that's what I'll aim for!..

Getting Back At Life...

I had started back on working out again a few weeks back... but with losing our sweet boy Milo I've become a moping mess again... today the sun is out and I wasn't stuck at work until late... I got home at a decent time... started supper... threw on some random workout mix from 8Tracks and NTC and had at it for 45 minutes... and pushed myself hard... I know it will make me feel good after a few days... after a few sore days that is...

This leads me to a few things that I'm stoked on... I've missed the past few weekends of Stuff I'm Stoked On Sunday... The first two things are apps...

8Tracks... I have it on my iPhone... and on my iPad... it appears that you can also access it on the internet using your computers!.. That is AWESOME!.. you can listen to ANYTHING on there!.. it's a great way to find new music that you've never heard before... search a type of music... search an artist... search a mood even!.. I started using it to find hiphop mixes... then workout mixes... this past week Beastie Boy mixes... and yesterday evening sleep mixes... not to fall asleep to or sleep while playing but just to chill out to in the evening...

NTC... I have this on my iPhone... and on my iPad too!.. it's that good... and fine on either device... you don't need to go to a gym to work out ... you don't need a pile of equipment to work out... use yourself and a few small weights... easy... try it out... or have you already tired it!?. what do you think?..

There was another thing... what was it... OH... the sunshine that all of a sudden seems to be up earlier in the morning and staying up later at night than me... that is completely fine... it is much better than waking up and going to sleep in darkness!.. Hello sunshine... I've missed you...

ANNND... the other thing... I finally got my drivers license... yeah I know... very lame to have not had it yet... I'd had my permit for years... yeah... YEARS... anywhoot... I have it now... I'm a driving machine... AND driving is a ton of fun!..

And I'm still digging Instagram... have you tried it?.. do you use it?.. what's your user name?.. mine is just Lacey Haskell... search me!.. follow me!..

Another Sad Day...

I can't believe it... that I'm even typing this right now after the past couple of months we've had with our furbabies... our sweet sweet Milo boy had gotten very ill again over the past couple of weeks and went back into emergency care this past weekend... we didn't want him suffering as he had multiple things working against him... we had to let him go... I just can't fucking believe it...

Our hearts have broken wide open... again... unexpected illness...

He was such a good boy... a little ladies man... a man's man... he loved up everyone and acted extra cute when we had visitors... he was Chris's boy... he was my little man... I couldn't take out the camera without him rubbing by and getting some part of himself in the shot... 

Every morning he would come into the bathroom while I was getting ready for the day and get up into his basket... okay I would pick him up before he had a chance to jump up into his basket... just lending a hand...  once I got to straightening my hair I would stop and comb him... his whiskers... backs of his ears... tum... under his chin... then I'd steal a few under the chin kitty kisses... he would stretch his head right back... every now and then I'd get a bite on the nose... never hard... just a little bite...

Whenever Chris was sitting on the couch Milo would get right up on his lap and chest for some snuggly snuggles and scratches... I would always tell people that he was like a puppy when trying to describe his personality... he was so affectionate... he loved to be chased around the house... and was a pro at the hid and sneak up... When you open the pantry he was straight into the recycle bin.... Milo, like Cleo, was such a part of our lives...  I still can't believe that he is gone...

Hey!.. how was your weekend!?.  what did you get up to?.. We had some drinkies with friends at the house on Friday night... a little early bday celebration for Christopickle... then yesterday some pre birthday shopping... and lots of movies yesterday evening... today I was out getting my driving on with old neib A... after the four of us had breakfast at Saskatoon Berry Farm A and I headed to Southcentre... then to Supastore... then home again home again jiggity jig...  If you've never been down to Saskatoon Berry Farm head there!.. not just for plants... but for their food... all I can say is OM NOM NOM NOM NOM...

Their quiche... to die for... We've made a pact to start going to the Saskatoon Berry Farm every second Sunday for breakfast... unless a hangover is involved... then the breakfast place of choice will be the Blackfoot Truck Stop... no jokes... go there too...

The Chai?.. I was expecting it to taste artificial... it was also to die for... and the cup was massive!.. definitely worth ordering...

The weather was quite lame this morning... but this afternoon had gotten rather sunny... thought it's still really cold out...  My afternoon has been full of laundry and vacuuming!.. and some playing with my new iPhone 4S!.. I FINALLY UPGRADED!.. I was willing to hold out a few months more... but my Christopickle convinced me to do it now...  it was worth it... the phone blows the 3GS out of the water!.. Prepare for photos galore!.. this beauty takes beauty shots!..

I was thinking... as I am seeing it all over the place... about starting to post... on Sunday's about things that I'm stoked about... I have three beauty products that I'm super stoked on lately so I thought I'd share those today...

The first... Clinique even better clinical dark spot corrector... after I have a blemish... ugh I hate the word zit... it was hard to even type that... barf... let's just say blemish... anyway... after all is said and done with said blemishes I'm more often than not left with some hyper pigmentation... aka scarring... Clinique's even better clinical dark spot corrector is awesome at speeding up the time it takes for the dark spots to fade... 

Use it twice a day... make sure you apply sunscreen after... Clinique has a sunscreen moisturizer that goes nicely with this product... It's very nice and further helps to lighten dark spots... you should be wearing sunscreen anyway... this leads me into my second fave product lately... BB Cream... I was hoping to get my hands on the Clinique BB Cream... but it's not available yet in Canada... So I'm currently trying out the Smashbox BB Cream... 

There are a few different brands of these available in North America now... apparently BB Creams have been in use in Asia for years... they were developed in Germany for use after laser treatments to help heal the treated skin... Different companies Creams claim to do different things... Smashbox's cream claims to Prime, Perfect, Hydrates, Protects and Control Oil... it comes in a few shades... I'm using the lightest... it gives nice light coverage... and some additional moisture... as well as a nice SPF... I wasn't sure about it a few days into using it but the more I've been using it the more I've been liking how it makes my skin look...  

My third favourite beauty thing right now... NeoStrata Anti Dark Circle Complex... I have darky under eyes... always have... I've been getting plenty of sleep lately... so I figured I'd give this a try... it's supposed to take 5 weeks to see the max results... I'm not the greatest with patience... but if it works then WHOOT!..

I've not done a pile of research on this one... I asked the sales lady what product would work best... and this is what she brought me...  It smells really nice...  So I'm stoked on this one to date as it seems to be helping already... I'll keep you posted on how it works out...

Oh and there is another thing that I've been soaked on the past day and a half... now that I have the iPhone 4S... much better camera situation than the 3GS... so I've started to use Instagram... I'm stoked about Instagram!.. Here are a few shots...

Hello April!...

April is now well underway... I think this time of year every year makes me restless... I get a little homesick... its usually been awhile since the parents have visited... feeling a little cooped up from the winter... but its beautiful outdoors today... maybe raking the lawns will help?!.

The house NEEDS a good spring cleaning gutting... some new paint wouldn't go astray either... I started working on the sewing room/office yesterday evening... hauled out one bag of garbage... and there are more to come... going to store some of the supplies up there down in the basement to clear the clutter in that room... Planning to work on the basement today too... seriously it looks like a bomb went off down there... there is stuff everywhere...  These two areas of the house AT LEAST need to get sorted before I can continue working on items for the Vintage Chicks sale... which is QUICKLY approaching... The second weekend in June!.. EEP!..

While I sit here and procrastinate... see house cleaning talk above... I found a few more decent pictures from my iPhone from the end of March...

Halfway through March I decided it was time to be blonde again... Thanks Candice!.. brunette is just too serious... and I keep saying it... people are much nicer when you're a blonde!.. perhaps its because they assume your IQ is lower?.. whatever... works for me!.. ha!..

My bathroom counter when coworker and I arrived in Vegas... okay, not when we arrived... but immediately after I unloaded the contact of my toiletries case!.. We got in late and time was ticking... had to move quick...

I really wanted to photobomb more... this was really the one and only... there just wasn't time!... well this shot isn't the photobomb... this is the shot after the couple discovered that I jumped into their first shot!.. They decided a nice shot was in order!.. 

Sunday morning in Vegas... the trucks were waiting for us to arrive!.. sweet!.. they'd almost gotten stuck in a snowstorm in Montana... but they pushed on through... the main truck driver gave me a big hug when we go there!.. so sweet!... but then he told me that I looked older than I did when we were in Calgary... so curly hair equals looking young... straight hair equals OLD... NOTED!.. I walked down between the two trucks to check out the dock situation... and on my way back out was faced with the above... beauty shot!..  its the best shot my iPhone has taken in months... I CANNOT WAIT TO UPGRADE ZOMFG!.. missing photo opportunities like you wouldn't believe!.. 

Snapped a quick shot of these shiny stored drums... oh so shiny... I am easily distracted by shiny things... please don't ever be offended if you're talking to me and I completely lose concentration and point and say "OOOOooo shiny! look!"... like a crow... I'm still listening to you...

And I HAVE to share this... really... how handy... when you pee you need somewhere to put your drink... yep... bathroom stall cupholders... but really thinking it through now... its kinda gross... bathroom germs... bathroom germs on cupholders...  maybe the theory in Vegas is that they're usually holding alcoholic drinks... alcohol kills germs... haha...  still though ew...

Sunday night in Vegas... heading out to a show with the clients... leopard shoes served me well... and are still in great shape!.. the ones I picked up for the work Christmas party were DESTROYED after the Christmas party!.. 

My Christopickle and I headed to Banff last weekend... the sun was splitting the rocks in Calgary... in Banff!?. it was a snowstorm... we turned around and headed straight back to Calgary!.. 

My new clothing obsession... OBEY... fabrics so soft... I'm not usually a fan of a giant logo plastered onto the front of me.. . but this one I don't mind... the hoodie in this shot too... same brand... its everywhere in Vegas...  I expected to see much more affliction and ed hardy!.. HA!.. luckily I did not!..

Okay... enough procrastination... time to get moving here... what are your plans for today?.. tomorrow?  Easter egg hunt in your immediate future?.. we're heading to the Blackfoot Diner... again... because its sooo good... tomorrow for breakfast with a pile of my co-workers... bring on the noms!

I Feel Like A Broken Record...

I feel like a broken record... BUT... I'll say it again... TIME IS JUST WHIZZING BY!.. it's a little scary actually... time is flying by quicker and quicker all the time it seems... March!?. Where'd you go!?.  yeah it's done and over with!.. and to keep the broken record spinning work has been INSANE!.. it's slowed down for me this week... and really its not "slow"... it's just more of a normal pace!.. Have you found that time has been just flying by?

About a week and a half ago a coworker and I headed to Vegas to oversee the setup of on of my projects... a quick rush job that turned out AWESOME!.. I went with the intention to take lots photos... well after the busy work weeks before the Friday evening travel, getting there and going out for a bit we'd been awake for about 23 hours before calling it quits!.. the weekend flew by of course... saw a few things... Rod Stewart... Ka by Cirque du Soleil... walked the strip and did a little bit of shopping but just didn't take many photos at all... it was a quick short trip and two of three days were spent overseeing the assembly of the project... 

Took a few shots when we arrived... and were driving to the NYNY... Vegas is very blinky and loud!.. I think it looks best at night...

...the fact that my iPhone is on the fritz big time didn't help with the photo situation...  major lag... hardly takes a photo... mostly blur... I've got a couple months on my phone contract before I can upgrade without it costing me mucho dinero... LAME!..

Coworker's phone is not in shit shape... so I got a few photos from him... like this one below... standing on the stage at Ceasar's Palace!.. we got to check out the backstage setup!.. whoot for connections!..

Very tired me below...  we got back late Monday night and then I headed into work early Tuesday morning... totally exhausted... check out the Rod Stewart shirt... vintage looking with baseball sleeves!.. score!..

Fell asleep super early all last week... basically I slept away the last week of March... 

This weekend just past old Neib A and I went out and about... I only say "old" because they moved over a few streets away... to find her a wedding dress... her search continues... BUT we had some awesome lunch at Ox and Anglea... zomfg... everything there is DELISH!.. and the waitstaff... amazeballs!.. it was super fun times... started with some bubbles and then...

...lots of tasty nibbles...

...dessert!?.  make sure you order some when you go...

...oh... I drove all day on Saturday!.. for those who don't know me that sounds lame... BUT it was downtown!.. just a little more parallel parking practice and I'll be set to take my test... it's starting to sound lame to me now... time to suck it up and get my license... I KNOW...

What A Week...

Had the best intentions to get back on projects this past week... well our big fur baby Milo had been seeming a little off the past little bit and this past Tuesday night we knew something was wrong... he was moaning when just trying to walk around... we whisked him away to the 24 hour animal emerg over near Deerfoot Meadows... he had tests, X-rays and an ultrasound... they didn't find anything way out of whack...  BUT he had quite a high fever that they were trying to bring down...

 

Wednesday night we switched him over to the Fish Creek 24 Vet Hospital... and they gave him an antihistamine and steroids in case he was having an allergic reaction to a vaccine that he'd gotten two weeks ago...  I was really scared... especially after the ordeal and losing Cleo so unexpectedly last month... well after a couple more nights in the hospital with lots of fluids and close care he's fever came down and then stayed down after he was taken off the IV... 

We brought him home last night... He's been shaved to bits... his arm... his belly... his neck... He's not 100% back to himself yet which still has me worried... but he's been coming downstairs off and on and he's eating well since he's gotten home so I'm sure he'll come around after he's finished all of his medication... we're probably irritating him with kisses and snuggles... once he's feeling better I'll get some photos of his velvety tum... 

They sent him home with liquid medicine that he needs twice a day and then two and a half pills twice a day... OMG... the pills are huge and quite a chore to get into him... we picked up some pill pockets today at our normal vet... fingers crossed that those will for his next dose...  do you have any advice for getting large pills into a cat?..

We've Adopted...

Since losing our sweet little fur baby we've all been in a funk... even Milo has been out of sorts...  My moping was out of control... and my heart was missing love from a sweet little one... After Chris's suggestion that we just go "take a look" we ended up adopting a sweet little rescue... the hole left when we lost Cleo will never be filled... but the love coming from this little thing is helping with the healing...

The first couple of days were a little rough... she came with an eye infection... and had to wear a cone for a little bit... and Milo wasn't too impressed about the situation... but now her eye has healed up... they've been both checked over by the vet and Milo is warming up... and he's even beginning to play a little more...

This sweet little creature has come from Whisker Rescue... all of the ladies that we've met and I've talked with since have been so nice and helpful... they are very lovely and caring...  This little fur monkey's name is Tinny... she's quite the little miss... and quite a crazy little kitten...  we got her name from Republic of Doyle... she came with the name Skittles... but she just didn't look like a skittles...
