Oh dear...

Feathering My Nest has moved!... come check all of this out over at www.featheringmynest.ca/blog

I've been such a terrible blogger... er non blogger rather... AGAIN work's pretty much insane... I forgot how BUSY kittens are... ACK!.. It's the last day of JUNE!.. I hardly have a memory of June... it disappeared... We went on a road trip with my parents while they visited... then I worked a lot... Goodbye June... What a complainer I am!..

...

...

...omg...

I started this post a week ago... got a call from my neib and headed out to check out some garage sales and to pick up some supplies of random projects... and we'll didn't pickup my computer again until just now... the 7th day of July...

...lets pickup where I left off in June... especially now since I've gotten my photo stream sorted out and now have my June photos from my iPhone on my MacBookPro... HA!.. sounds like some sort of Apple advert...  What did you get up to in June?.. anything fun? interesting? new?..

On the road trip we went to Spokane to check out the Farm Chicks annual Sale... AWESOME!.. but definitely worth buying the early bird tickets to get in there before the throngs of crazy ladies are let loose on the place...

Furbear and dad went golfing... the momma and I went to the sale... an hour early... what a whopper of a lineup... everyone was very friendly though... and excited... and once the doors opened the lineup went quite quickly...

I've seen many of this shot over the past couple of years... took my own shot of the siloh with the Farm Chicks logo on...

There was tonnes of amazing stuff... old stuff... repurposed stuff... it was hard not to buy lots but I resisted... It makes the most sense that we get the basement finished before I buy things to decorate it!.. I've got a few items picked up for the basement already that are guiding the finishing details down there... def a project for the fall...

One thing I did pickup was a real birds nest!.. it had been abandoned of course.. and it only cost $2... ya... $2...

Had some AMAZEBALLS pizza in spokane... who woulda thought!?.  I don't remember the name of the restaurant... but I found it using urban spoon...

I turned on my roaming data when I was taking photos so that they would be location tagged... you'll find these on my instagram... and the location of the restaurant should be on there!..

This was the bruschetta... We devoured it... and then two pizzas... two pastas... and dessert...

Then onto Seattle... the hotel was terrible... my bad... most all were booked up... and the photos of this place didn't look terrible... BARF!.. I'd tell you the name of it but I seem to have blocked it from my memory...

We went on a boat tour the first evening in Seattle... that was awesome... I miss being near significant amounts of water... yeah yeah... the mountains are great out here but being land locked is wearing...

Instagram shots... ya... my phone bill was stupid when the bill that covered this trip came...

We checked out the Farmer's Market in the evening to get some shots of the lit up signs... then back for breakfast and a real look around before heading out to Vancouver...

Oh yeah... we took a quick trip to their aquarium... EEEeee!!!... Squeee!!!... Otters... omg these things are cute...

Urban Spoon also found us an awesome diner in Vancouver... it basically rained the whole time we were there... so much so that we were stuck because of a landslide just west of Golden on our way back to Calgary...

Room service snackies... so worth it... yes please bring me junk while I'm laying in bed... that's excellent... thank you!..

I could have used a whole day just at the beach... any beach... the water was beautiful...

We ate a lot... found a place in a parky/beachy area... best clam chowda ever... we all had a bowl!..

My furbear and I sought out the Sparrows that I'd worked on while sculpting at Heavy... these things are giant!... I also made sure to get my photo with the giant raindrop that I'd worked on...

The bronze feet on these things are so beautiful... just amazing to see these again...

After we were back in Calgary it was Vintage Chicks time... I found a tea cup that I fell in love with... so bought... it my Tea3P0... only I'm afraid that I'll get lead poisoning if I use it... gold paint... that can't be good... if you know different please let me know!..

...and I found this awesome KitCat Clock... his tail stops every now and then but he's keeping the time... anyone know how to fix his tail?.. I'm guessing its a magnetic thing inside?.. perhaps a loose wire somewhere?..

I brought mom to the Italian Supermarket... for napoleons and their amazing pizza... delish... haul your ass over there today for some of the best pizza you will ever eat...

The rest of June was consumed with working... and sleeping... and well of course some snuggles... little Tinny is so full of energy...

I've gotten into long boarding... it's very relaxing to just cruise around... wind blowing by... I've tired the sharp turning while heading down an incline... not the greatest results from that... I truly don't feel ready for that advanced type movements on the longboard yet... I'm really digging the just cruising around...

...and well so is my flesh... I did quite the number on my knee and calf... again BARF... it looks gross... but is healing up nicely...

Had a nice work lunch with the work ladies... again pizza... Pizza isn't my favourite food by any means... well maybe it's becoming my fave... probably because there are a few amzeballs places around to get some real authentic pies...

Mackenzie Towne just got a Famoso... again with the OMG... their food is great!..  the servers are very sweet... and their gelato is also fantastic... go there... My fave pizza place is still the Italian Supermarket but when you're craving great pizza and it happens to no be Saturday... go to Famoso...

You would think I was 400lbs from all of the food pics I've posted for the month of June... I have to share this below photo as its the first time I've heard of or even have eaten lobster poutine...  insanity in a dish... delish... from National... downtown... go there too!.. the portion is huge though so order it to share...

Digging the long boarding  like nobody's business... Fur and I picked up bamboo Sector 9 boards... I ride around our work parking lot a lunch...

Oh HAI!.. not my glasses... was using one of the design computers and put on one of the nerd's glasses... I'm a total nerd too... just saying...

Work had a camping trip towards the end of June... we didn't camp... just headed down one day to visit and partake in the giant bbq supper... it poured the whole time... the whole weekend...

MORE FOOD... there is this place in Calgary called Holy Smokes... go there too... om nom nom nom... whenever someone at work is craving some hearty meats for lunch we go here...  Their meat is great... but so are the sides... order a few...

I'm layin' here on the patio now... and have been for the past two hours...  we refinished the deck last weekend... stripped it... washed it... repainted the black border... restrained the cedar... its beautiful again... like a brand new deck... we also washed away all of the spiders!.. though quite a few have come back... ew...  I also made covers for all of the patio furniture... the red cushion covers had gotten very faded from the sun... so the cushions are now covered in natural muslin... much more fitting for our house and backyard... Oh... and we replaced our giant overhanging patio umbrella...

..so I'm not baking in the sun as I lay here typing... but I am losing sight in my left eye due to an allergy to something out here... I thought I would be allergy free this year as I had been allergy free right up until the past couple of days... cold shower and Reactin it is as soon as I get up off my ass to get ready for the day... as of right now we have zero plans for the day... maybe a movie out tonight... I heard that Ted is crazy funny...

Tomorrow... the usual groceries and house cleaning... perhaps with some long boarding in the middle... perhaps doing some laundry today will free up some more time for long boarding tomorrow... and maybe I'll sew covers for the pillows that go on our patio furniture... in the same muslin.. they're brown and natural right now but slightly faded... an not matching the muslin seat cushions... the weather is supposed to be beauty all weekend... I don't really want to be indoors sewing... I'll leave those for a rainy day...

What are your plans for this weekend?

xo
Lacey
