Updating a blog...

So this is like round 4 at blogging for me - Thought I should be able to keep it up this time as I now have more creative energy to spend working on my own things, now that I've switched jobs and settled in to my new one, so I've decided to blog and keep track of what I'm working on - photography, crafty things, gardening, cooking...


I've just started an etsy store: Lacey on etsy  I have to learn how to put a banner on there though - and get some photos printed to sell on there as well.  I'm going to be selling the Staches and some photos at the Lilac Festival this coming May 30th with a friend and amazing artist Yana.  Check out her out: Yana's Website

Thats it for now.  I've got some work to do - photos to edit, have printed - check the colours and then print the larger number of them, design and have some business cards printed for the Lilac Festival - I've drawn out a few ideas so far - I'll post them once they're done.  And I want to get some shots of my photos framed and up in my etsy shop.

PATIO

Work is still super busy, but we managed to get a patio built this past weekend/beginning of the week.  In fact I'm out sitting on my new chairs this very moment!  Our back yard is not totally finished yet, and the traffic can get rather noisy but its nice to be able to come outside and sit down on our very own patio. The front of the house gets so hot in the afternoon that front door will burn you if you touch it!  Even the door knob gets super hot - and its silver!  Then when you come out back its still nice out but because the back of the house gets sun all morning and for the first bit of the afternoon then shade all evening you don't cook from sitting in the sun!  Here are some snaps of the patio!  Oh, I said that "we" managed to get a patio built, but really Chris and our neighbor built it!

We also got a new light fixture and put up white railing along the side, and I found some patio chairs that I absolutely love, love, love!  They're pretty light and easy to reconfigure.  We got two corner chairs, two armless chairs and an ottoman, though one of the corner chairs was really banged up in the box so we have to go and exchange it this weekend.  C'mon long weekend!  I have some lounging to do on our patio!

So when I went downstairs to get my lunch together before heading out to work first thing this morning, there he was on the bottom of his tank, not moving at all - sometimes he'd do that and then when I'd get close to the tank he'd swim up and around but not this morning.  My little gold fish Minkus who I've had for the past year died, and he had gotten so big.  Chris buried him for me out behind the house : (

I'll get a picture of him off of the external hard drive later and put it up so you can see him and his buggy eyes.

Quick Hello

Hey, hello, how are you!?  So not a lot going on here lately - working and sleeping, thats about it.  Work has been super busy so I haven't had much time to sew, knit, crochet... anything!   Well I made Napoleons two weekends ago - they were made with a lot less layers that what I've had before so the next time I make them they'll be much larger!  This past weekend I started wallpapering my studio space... wallpapering - no fun at all, but it will look good when its all finished.  Pictures to follow once I finish that and get the room put back together.  There are a few things that I've been working on that I'll pick back up now once I start leaving work at the regular quitting time - a couple quilts, art works...  so more to follow soon.

WTF!?

Holy shit, I just reclaimed my old blog - pinknoodles.blogspot... and added it to my gmail account er whatever... then when I signed in I saw that I had a second blog - What We're At - I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THAT BLOG... actually I don't remember even starting it though its sorta familiar! Jees - what is up with my brain!? Anyway I've decided to start blogging again because Jill has started a blog!

Back to Blogging

As good as facebook is for keeping in touch it is missing "blogging,"  I know you can write notes and things but its just not the same.

I blogged for a year or so at www dot Lacey Haskell dot com but that was too tedious b/c I was using iweb and a non dot mac account.... it always gave me trouble when I was uploading new content.

I just picked up a Canon Rebel XSi DSLR... I haven't picked up my 35mm SLR in years so I think its going to take a couple days to get use to using this camera!  

We're going to a BBQ tomorrow at Serrene and Dave's.  Chris plans to stuff a salmon... yum!  Once we get a deck built we'll be having lots of BBQ's... but we have to get a fence up first!
