What have you been up to?...

Feathering My Nest has moved!... come check all of this out over at www.featheringmynest.ca/blog

Hey!... how've you been?... it's been a little while... I've been working myself silly getting pieces ready for the group Vintage with Flair Christmas Market... and a little work on the www.featheringmynest.ca website... it is still in progress... I'm really hoping to have it up and running by the show on November 9th... if not my facebook page is up and going...

Fall has hit really quickly here... a little too quickly... and it's a little too cold... well except this week so far has been really nice... and well we get lots of sunshine so I won't complain too much... I love fall... when it's not too cold!  ahhaaha... layers and legwarmers... snuggly comfort clothing...

Besides working on things for the show the Pickle and I have been chilling out quite a bit in the evenings and on the weekends... Walking Dead, movies, bubbly...

...OH!... and karaoke at the neibs house... sweet jesus I'm quitting my day job and I'm become a professional karaoke-er!... hehehe... so much fun...

And of course as always... lots of snuggles with these two little furbabies...

Falling into fall quite nicely...
I hope you've been well!...

What A Week...

Feathering My Nest has moved!... come check all of this out over at www.featheringmynest.ca/blog

Had the best intentions to get back on projects this past week... well our big fur baby Milo had been seeming a little off the past little bit and this past Tuesday night we knew something was wrong... he was moaning when just trying to walk around... we whisked him away to the 24 hour animal emerg over near Deerfoot Meadows... he had tests, X-rays and an ultrasound... they didn't find anything way out of whack...  BUT he had quite a high fever that they were trying to bring down...

Wednesday night we switched him over to the Fish Creek 24 Vet Hospital... and they gave him an antihistamine and steroids in case he was having an allergic reaction to a vaccine that he'd gotten two weeks ago...  I was really scared... especially after the ordeal and losing Cleo so unexpectedly last month... well after a couple more nights in the hospital with lots of fluids and close care he's fever came down and then stayed down after he was taken off the IV...

We brought him home last night... He's been shaved to bits... his arm... his belly... his neck... He's not 100% back to himself yet which still has me worried... but he's been coming downstairs off and on and he's eating well since he's gotten home so I'm sure he'll come around after he's finished all of his medication... we're probably irritating him with kisses and snuggles... once he's feeling better I'll get some photos of his velvety tum...

They sent him home with liquid medicine that he needs twice a day and then two and a half pills twice a day... OMG... the pills are huge and quite a chore to get into him... we picked up some pill pockets today at our normal vet... fingers crossed that those will for his next dose...  do you have any advice for getting large pills into a cat?..

Lately... it's been rough...

Feathering My Nest has moved!... come check all of this out over at www.featheringmynest.ca/blog

I started to write a post January 31... got tired and stopped partway through... I had started a post about some current projects... I've got a few in the works... Then last weekend we tragically lost our little furbaby Cleo... It was a completely unexpected illness and she was in a lot of pain... my heart is broken and I don't feel it will ever fully heal... She was such a part of our lives...

She wouldn't go to bed at night without me... She'd sit up staring at us... then start swaying and falling asleep... but she always waited until we went upstairs before she would hop in bed... Most mornings when I would get out of bed she'd run into the bathroom with me in the dark and we would both stand there squinting when I flicked the light on...

You can't break out the camera without the cats hopping into the shot... I have a pile of photos of them both but it still doesn't feel like enough photos of her...

She was always into everything... You couldn't do anything without her head butts and requests for snuggles... such a mewer... so vocal...

Snuggles and naps... she couldn't get enough...

She was such a skinny minnie... after she got fixed she got a little wider but she was alway a tiny kitty...

We loved her to bits... still do...

My Two Furbabies...

These iphone shots are from last week, or the week before... I can't remember... anyway I was home in bed not feeling well and had these two sweet little monkies to keep me company...  My sinus is burning and my face is aching, I'm freezing cold and still coughing... I took some Benalyn... its helped a little bit... I shoulda stayed home in bed today to try to rest this off...

Went out for supper with friends Saturday evening... to Muku... its over by Globefish in Kensington... Ummm... one word to describe this place - yum... we're turning into real foodies with our neighbors... we've been to a pile of good restaurants lately...  Here are a few iphone shots of the food... I can't remember the names of everything...

No sushi at Muku... only delicious Ramen...

I should have snapped a few shots of the menu so I would have remembered exactly what everything was called...  We started with pork gyoza and the shrimp dumplings... no time for pictures of those... we at them so quick because they were delish... Then we all ordered different combinations of the three course option I'll call it... Salad... Rice dish... Ramen...  My rice dish there above was the pork one... and I had Miso Wonton Ramen... it was good but Chris ordered the more spicy Ramen dish... the tonkatsu?..  I will definitely order that ramen next time!..

At first it didn't really seem like a lot of food... but I didn't make it through everything... I still had to order the Green Tea Ice Cream though... om nom nom nom...  I preferred the green tea to the mango ice cream... I've never really been a fan of mango though...

I'm off to make an Earl Grey tea to see if it will help warm me up here this morning...
