Oh my... the Stanley Cup Playoffs are in full swing... what a good time to work on my book page wreath for the Vintage Chicks Sale in June!.. haha... 

I was just outside and uncovered my back gardens... eff... what a mess... there is a little bit of green life coming around but the back lawn is just torn up from voles!.. yes voles... 

I thought to get a few photos of the grass and garden but its just an aweful sight... instead here are a few shots from last summer... 

It was just sprinkling rain outside... Ooo... I love spring... fresh and green and full of life...

I can't wait to sit out on my patio in the warm summer sun...

Lazy Day Off...

Totally lazy day... tossed a roast in the slowcooker... tidied up a the house a bit... thought about Spring cleaning the house... thought about it... that was it... 

While I was vacuuming this morning I stopped at looked at the front living room... althought its not 100% complete... yes I still have to sew up those chair cushion covers... I am really happy with how the front room has come together...

Its My Friday Eve...

...didn't do a whole lot this past weekend... hung out around the house on Saturday and a bit of shopping late in the afternoon... Saturday night to the pub with Furs and friends and then drinks with friends back at the house for Chris's Bday...

Sunday... Furs Bday was a lazy day... sleeping in and groceries...

Monday... work and sleep... was out cold by 630pm last night... Zzz...

Lunch today?..

...cajun fries...

...little bacon cheesburger with sauteed mushrooms...

... bag fries... cajun bag fries...

... regular Five Guys fries...

I ordered the Cajun Fries at Five Guys... they're too flavory... I'd rather the regular Five Guys Fries... The little bacon cheeseburger with sauteed mushrooms!?. delish!.. nom nom nom...

Tomorrow is my Friday!.. I've booked Thursday off... the security company is coming to the house to rejigg our system... and then Friday is a holiday!.. Yay extra looong weekend... Party at a friends Friday night... then I think Saturday will be turkey day... then turkey soup day will be Sunday... Ooo turkey soup... 

Ooo... parmesean chicken in the oven cooking away... gotta go cook some broccoli to go with... nom nom nom...


...Ooo... the parmesean chicken turned out great!... usually Furs makes it but I made it this evening and its tasty!..

Under The Weather...

Left work early today... brought some work home with me to finish this afternoon... working on it now...  I slept the whole afternoon... One side of my face is so tender and hurty... and my sinus cavities on that side are dry feeling and burny... I'm still not feeling well but gotta get some work done... I've begun to type out what I'm working on for work tomorrow morning but I can't totally focus... so I'm bouncing around between my blog dashboard and some other blogs to link my last two posts up to some linky parties... 

 

Check out these fuzzy pipecleaner looking peeps!.. hahaha... saw them at Michaels a few weekends ago when I was picking up the wreathform for the book page wreath...  Thought they looked hilarous so I had to get their picture!.. okay enough not working... gotta get back at it and get it finished!.. C'mon weekend... just one more day to this work week... I've got some some more sleeping to do!.. and its Furs birthday this weekend!..

Oh yeah... under the weather... after just about all of our snow having melted away over the past week we woke up this morning to this:

 

Furs had to shovel the walkway to get to the car... we had about 6 inches of snow overnight...  it was like a winter wonderland... AGAIN...

...okay, okay... focus time... back to work... just a 30 minute push and I think I have my work finished... 

Refinished Wooden Breakfast Tray...

Its been a couple months since I picked up this tray at VV... I think I got it for something like 3.99... or was it 4.99?.. either way it was a great find...  Here it is completed...

This is the only before picture I could find...

Its buried in behind the two white frames... see the dark brown rectangle!?. that's it!.. it was black on the outside edge, the bottom and the legs...

So... I painted it cream... of course... And with the sheet music I picked up at Fair's Fair a few weekends ago... and some modge podge I covered the bottom and then the top of the tray... luckily I started with the  bottom to get the hang of mod podging again... its been awhile... 

To seal the bottom of the tray I used a couple coats of mod podge... I got a few bubbles/wrinkles on the bottom... so a little research on the web for mod podge techniques and the top turned out perfeclty...

 For the top I just mod podged the tray and pressed my pre cut out and pre fit paper onto it... smoothed out any bubbles and moved onto the next piece...  once it was all stuck down I let it dry... I didn't put a layer of mod podge over top...  I let it sit a couple of days and then used a clear waterbased varnish to protect the sheet music from any spills...  Then a coat of paste wax and a buffing with cheese cloth and I put the tray pieces back together...

I'm very happy with the results... It matches our bedroom perfectly... but I think I might have to part with this one at the Vintage Chicks Sale coming up in June...

I won't have my own booth but I'm going to have a few items in with Laura's and Pam's booths... I'm going to be taking the photos for the Vintage Chicks Sale this Spring!.. So excited!..  It's going to be a fun weekend!..

I wish I had enough items build up that I could have my own booth... only work has been so busy that I haven't had a chance to make enough items to fill a whole booth...

Of course I can't break out the camera without Mr. Man making an appearance!.. I swear he  comes running when he hears the shutter click!..

Now I have a question... if you were at a sale and found this tray what would you be willing to pay!?.  Yeah I have to start pricing a few items and  I need your imput!..

Sheet Music Butterflies...

Ooo... just as I named this post I thought... I should cut out some life sized butterflies from the sheet music... hmm...

In the meantime check out these minitures...

All you need is a small butterfly hole punch and some sticky raised foam dots...

Punch out your shapes... place them as you like... make a grid on a sheet of paper and have the horizontal and vertical lines cross where the butterflies are sitting in your layout...

Then take that sheet of grid paper that you made and place your butterflies on it to check that you've gotten the grid correct and you like how everything lines up... then place that  grid paper over whatever you are going to stick the butterflies onto... with a stickpin poke holes through the grid paper into the paper underneath... this will show you where to place your sticky foam dots that you stick the butterflies onto without you having to make on that paper...  stick on your dots and then your butterflies... pop that into the frame and BAM!.. you're done...

House Plants in Jars...

Found a new little tropical plant yesterday... an Asparagus Furn... so I planted it this morning...  OMG... I just Googled the plant... apparently it can grow to 3-4 feet wide!?.  hmm... I wonder if being stuffed in this jar will stunt its growth?.. 

Can't take out the camera without my little man showing up... check him out there in the background!.. He's chilling out with me now on the couch...

The fuzzy ferns that I planted a few weeks ago are growing like crazy...
